ANDERSON – Bankable, Powered by Flagship, became the largest Small Business Administration (SBA) microlender in the United States as of Dec. 31, 2025. The designation reflects the organization’s continued growth and expanding role in financing small businesses across Indiana.
Bankable is a program of Flagship Enterprise Center, a nonprofit entrepreneurial support organization based in Anderson. Flagship launched the microlending program in 2010.
Bankable focuses on serving entrepreneurs who cannot access traditional bank or credit union financing. Since its inception, the lender has deployed more than $75 million through more than 2,300 loans, supporting businesses in all 92 Indiana counties. Reaching the top national ranking reflects steady loan growth, solid portfolio performance, and sustained demand for smaller-dollar business financing.
Bankable provides microloans to startups and early-stage businesses, with a focus on companies owned by individuals who are socially or economically disadvantaged. Nearly all loans support businesses with less than $1 million in annual revenue, including startups, rural businesses, and companies located in low- to moderate-income communities.
The organization also works with commercial banks throughout Indiana as a referral partner when loan requests fall outside conventional underwriting standards due to credit history, collateral limitations, or loan size. As a nonprofit lender focused exclusively on small business lending, Bankable provides smaller loans paired with technical assistance while maintaining communication with referring institutions. The goal is to help borrowers strengthen their credit profile and return to traditional bank financing after repaying their Bankable loan.
“Becoming the largest SBA microlender in the country is an incredible honor, but what matters most to us is what that number represents,” said Jennifer Hall, executive director of Bankable. “It represents thousands of entrepreneurs who were told ‘no’ somewhere else and found a path forward with us. Our mission has always been to help small business owners grow into strong, bankable businesses. This milestone belongs to the hardworking Hoosier entrepreneurs we are proud to serve every day.”
In addition to its national ranking, Bankable was named the 2025 Indiana Mission Lender of the Year by the SBA Indiana District Office.
Bankable’s model pairs small business loans with technical assistance designed to help borrowers stabilize operations, improve creditworthiness, and eventually qualify for traditional bank financing. The organization plans to continue expanding lending activity across Indiana in 2026.
