FORT WAYNE – STAR Bank has added Scott Freeman to the team as Chief Investment Officer working out of the company’s Fort Wayne headquarters.

Freeman will provide STAR clients with effective and financially-sound investment strategies to help protect and growth their wealth. As a fiduciary, he will work closely with the wealth management team providing tailored approaches that help clients achieve their financial goals.

Freeman brings over 20 years of experience in investment services. He came to STAR from Fifth Third Bank where he was a Senior Vice President and Regional Director of Portfolio Management. He also spent time as a Senior Investment Strategist for Comerica Wealth Management and as an Adjunct Professor at Grand Valley State University.

He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy and his Master’s in Business Administration in Finance from Western Michigan University. Freeman holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Freeman serves the community as a board member of the Michigan Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association where he also serves on the audit committee. He previously was a board member of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, member of the finance committee for the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, director of Broadway Grand Rapids, and director of the West Michigan Jazz Society.
