IU Health Plans offers new reduced premium plans with state’s leading provider network

Employers in Indiana have new health insurance options from Indiana University Health Plans: lower-cost products featuring a highly skilled care network called IU Health Select, comprised mainly of IU Health providers and facilities.

IU Health Plans designed its IU Health Select network products as reduced premium alternatives that respond to the financial challenges employers face from rising healthcare expenses and the economic downturn during the coronavirus epidemic. IU Health Select products are available for quoting now for 2021 coverage.

“IU Health aims to improve the lives and well-being of Hoosiers while helping employers navigate rising healthcare costs. The world has been presented with many challenges over the course of 2020, and the IU Health Select network will provide some financial relief for employers and members during this tough time and over the long-term,” said IU Health Plans President Stephanie Motter.

Backed by state’s largest provider network
IU Health Select products feature a pool of selected doctors, hospitals, and treatment centers offering highly coordinated care at lower contracted prices. This approach reduces the cost of premiums for employers, while consumers benefit from lower overall out-of-pocket expenses. Beyond access to a premier provider network and sustainable cost savings, benefits include virtual visits, access to a growing network of IU Health urgent care facilities and personalized support. Members also gain free access to the IU Health Employee Assistance Program with behavioral health resources such as counseling for depression, stress and anxiety management.

The IU Health Select network will be sold in areas near an IU Health hospital, such as Indianapolis, Muncie, Bloomington, Lafayette and nearby communities. With 16 hospitals across Indiana, IU Health offers the largest care system in the state, including 3,600 physicians and 1,100 advanced practice providers, more than 300 primary and specialty care sites and a coordinated, personalized approach to care.
