INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana-based non-profit CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions is hosting its annual Safe at Home Clean Up event on September 14 @ 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and is in need of 200 community volunteers.
Safe at Home is a high-impact, half-day of service to low-income senior homeowners over the age of 60 in Indianapolis. Volunteers help make their homes and yards safe and accessible for daily living. Support ranges from minor yard cleanup, to checking that carpets and lighting are safely secured. Select houses will also have wheelchair ramps installed.
The event occurs during National Fall Prevention Awareness Month. This day of community outreach helps prevent costly and dangerous falls and injuries among seniors.
