Ogletree Deakins: Charles B. Baldwin Named BTI Client Service All Star (Indianapolis)

2018-04-03T14:56:02+00:00 April 3rd, 2018|

Ogletree Deakins is pleased to announce Charles B. Baldwin, Managing Director of Ogletree Deakins, was named to the BTI Client Service All-Stars 2018 list. Attorneys recognized on the BTI Client Service All-Stars 2018 list are the end result of 350 in-depth, independent interviews with legal decision makers at the world’s leading organizations. The only way to become a BTI Client Service All-Star is for corporate counsel to single out an attorney for client service exceeding all others. No attorney can lobby to be added to list, there is no self-submission process, and law firms cannot provide names of clients to be contacted.

Baldwin is a Managing Director at Ogletree Deakins and has held numerous leadership roles since he joined the firm in 2000. He has served on Ogletree Deakins’ Board of Directors since 2011 and was previously the Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Indianapolis office. Baldwin devotes his practice to representing employers in complex EEO litigation; labor arbitrations; and non-competition/trade secret disputes. Baldwin frequently consults with and trains employees on employment practices and policies, positive employee relations, and litigation avoidance.

An active member of the Indianapolis community, Baldwin serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and was previously selected as an Indiana Chamber “Volunteer of the Year” for his work in the Indianapolis community. Baldwin is a Charter Member of the American Employment Law Council, as well as a member of the Eiteljorg Museum’s Advisory Council and the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers’ 7th Circuit Credentials Committee. Baldwin has also been recognized for leadership in legal innovation and legal project management by a number of prestigious publications and organizations, including the College of Law Practice Management, Association of Corporate Counsel, American Corporate Counsel Association, and the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA). He was singled out among his peers for his professional accomplishments, including being elected as a Fellow in the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and being listed as one of the top labor and employment lawyers in Indiana by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers magazine. Baldwin holds an AV® Preeminent™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Baldwin is an experienced writer and has authored a number of publications on labor and employment law. He served for many years as the Seventh Circuit Editor for the “Employment & Labor Relations Litigation Newsletter” of the ABA, was a contributing author for the first and second edition of “Model Jury Instructions: Employment Litigation,” published by the Litigation Section of the ABA, and co-authored Indiana Chamber publications including “Indiana Guide to Preventing Workplace Harassment,” “Interviewing Guide: Designed to Assist Indiana Employers with Hiring and Retaining Employees,” and “Managing Employees Leaves of Absence.”
