Ice Miller LLP is pleased to welcome Kristen Matha as its Director of Diversity and Inclusion.

“As a Firm, we believe in constantly challenging ourselves to provide the best possible client service and a workplace our attorneys and staff can feel great about,” said Steve Humke, chief managing partner of Ice Miller. “Law firms and their clients have known for a long time that inclusive workplaces lead to reduced employee attrition and greater job satisfaction. Research shows inclusive workplaces allow a diversity of perspectives and analyses on client issues, which lead to better outcomes for our clients. Kristen’s impressive experience in leading diversity and inclusion programs, as well as her personal passion for the subject matter, will have a profound effect on making sure we are a leading law firm for diversity and inclusion.”

Kristen adds her experience and talent to Ice Miller’s existing Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Women’s Initiative, as well as Firm recruiting and retention efforts. She will lead the Firm in updating and expanding our Strategic Plan for Diversity and will make sure all Firm attorneys and staff are trained in relevant areas on diversity and inclusion best practices.

“I am excited to begin working with Kristen,” said Myra Selby, Ice Miller’s partner in charge of diversity and inclusion. “Kristen brings invaluable experience from a corporate environment, and I am looking forward to working with her on initiatives that bring diversity and inclusion to the forefront of the way we think about serving our clients.”

“We are very impressed that Kristen’s approach to diversity and inclusion involves both relationship-building and fact-based research,” said Rob Gauss, chair of Ice Miller’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. “Kristen understands the importance of our Firm maintaining an open and safe environment, which celebrates the unique strengths of all our team members, and appreciates that our success is directly related to our recruiting and retention goals.”

Kristen is a member of the 2017-2018 Indiana Emerging Leaders Project. Since 2014, she has served on the board of directors of Saint Mary’s College Alumnae Association.
