Ice Miller LLP congratulates partner Stephen Reynolds on being voted an advisory member of the Indiana Executive Council on Cybersecurity. The Council, established through executive order by former Governor Mike Pence in April 2016 and continued by Governor Eric Holcomb by executive order on January 9, 2017, is a comprehensive public-private partnership charged with enhancing Indiana’s ability to prevent, respond to and recover from all types of cybersecurity issues, including attacks.
The Council voted to approve the first 42 advisory members today.
“Our Firm’s Data Security and Privacy Practice has grown significantly to keep our clients ahead of cybersecurity threats, and Stephen is at the forefront of this effort,” said Steve Humke, chief managing partner at Ice Miller LLP. “His inclusion as an advisory member of the Council highlights his skillset, and we are excited for him to help protect the state of Indiana.”
The Council is comprised of members from public and private sector organizations across the state, along with a coalition of state agencies (Indiana Department of Homeland Security, Indiana Office of Technology, Indiana National Guard and Indiana State Police) and the Governor’s office.
The Council’s goals include formalizing strategic cybersecurity partnerships across the public and private sectors, strengthening best practices to protect information technology infrastructure and building and maintaining robust statewide cyber incident response capabilities.
Stephen is co-chair of Ice Miller’s Data Security and Privacy Practice. As a former computer programmer and IT analyst, Stephen is uniquely able to and routinely uses his technology background in cases involving data security and privacy, electronic discovery, social media discovery and computer forensics.
Stephen is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
