A conference on technology trends and their impact on the insurance and related industries is slated for Friday, January 12, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The conference, InsuranceConnect, is organized by Frost Brown Todd (FBT) and brings together top-level executives, legal counsel, legislators, regulators, and leading innovators to discuss a wide range of technology developments affecting the U.S. industry.

The impact of innovations, big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain and cryptocurrencies on insurance and other industries are some of the topics to be addressed by speakers from both government and industry. Speakers include Matt Lehman, Indiana state representative and majority floor leader, who is also currently serving as treasurer for the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL); Steve Riggs, Kentucky state representative and immediate past president of NCOIL; Dennis Monaghan, head of commercial operations and general counsel for Munich RE Digital Partners; and Mat Gangwer, chief technology officer at Rook Security.

“Those who deal with, or are interested in the intersection of technology and the insurance industry and its impact on other industries will find considerable value in attending this conference,” said Greg Mitchell, member at FBT and leader of the firm’s insurance industry group. “That applies to anyone who offers warranties, extended warranties or hybrid risk products for automotive and other industries, those who want to understand how blockchain and cryptocurrency intersect with insurance and who have concerns about cyber security and the use of big data. Our roster of nationally-recognized speakers from industry and government will provide invaluable insights into current cutting-edge issues in the evolution of technology to the regulated space.”
