(INDIANAPOLIS) -- There's no indication skyrocketing energy costs are slowing down any time soon. On top of that environmental regulations from the federal government keep coming. That puts Hoosier businesses on the look for ways to increase energy efficiency and their bottom lines.
To assist leaders with strategies on managing energy costs, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 10th Annual Indiana Conference on Energy Management August 28-29 at the Westin in downtown Indianapolis.
A number of guest speakers will headline the conference, including: Indiana Republican and Democratic gubernatorial candidates, Mike Pence and John Gregg, as well as Canadian Consul General Roy Norton of Detroit.
Norton will kick off the opening general session at 9 a.m. on August 28, discussing Canada's energy impact in the United States and Indiana. Congressman Pence will speak during the opening session about his energy policy and take questions from the crowd. Gregg will speak about his energy policy during a closing luncheon on August 29.
Other event highlights include a number of educational break-out sessions in which industry experts and government officials will present information on reducing energy costs, increasing energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and emerging technologies. An energy expo with vendors representing a number of energy-related industries and a gala reception sponsored by Duke Energy takes place August 28.
The cost is $399 for Chamber members; $449 for non-members; $199 for government employees. Group discounts are available.
