Ed is the health and life sciences practice group leader for B&D Consulting. He assists medical device, pharmaceutical, diagnostics and biotech companies in developing and implementing strategies to support successful commercialization of novel technologies and repositioning of mature products in the U.S. health care market.Ed is also working to enhance collaboration between private industry, public research entities and patient advocacy organizations to accelerate the translation of scientific research into effective therapies for the treatment of rare diseases. He is engaged in launching public/private research consortia for a number of conditions.

Regina Sharrow is a business attorney who represents privately held and public companies in diverse industries, with a concentration in life sciences. Regina's experience includes in-depth knowledge of Health Information Technology within the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Jim Birge, Partner, Baker & Daniels
Jim chairs the firm's advanced manufacturing and logistics practice group. Prior to returning to Baker & Daniels, Jim served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Joseph E. Kernan, where he worked on economic development and government reform issues. Jim works with advanced manufacturing transportation and logistics companies on supply agreements, sourcing arrangements, product liability disputes, economic incentive opportunities and employment relations.

Frank Swain, Senior Vice President, B&D Consulting and Partner, Baker & Daniels
Frank focuses his practice on advising clients on finance and government program issues. He also has extensive experience with tax exempt organization legal issues, including issues related to trade associations and charities. He also served as legislative counsel to the National Federation of Independent Business and was in private law practice in New York.
