Explore Strategies at Indiana Employee Health and Wellness Summit Sept. 27

(INDIANAPOLIS) -- Rising health care costs are not going away any time soon. But companies can take matters into their own hands by looking at wellness programs and the return on investment that successful initiatives can bring.

The annual Indiana Employee Health and Wellness Summit, on September 27, gives organizations an opportunity to explore a variety of effective strategies. The event offers something for every type of company -- no matter the size, industry or wellness background.

Highlights of the daylong agenda include:

  • several concurrent educational sessions to choose from covering topics such as on-site health care, financial wellness, tobacco cessation and wellness management;
  • an opening keynote address, "A Simple Solution to Your Company's Health Crisis," by Eat Right America CEO Kevin Leville;
  • an interactive closing general session keynote presentation, "Practice Safe Stress: Using Humor to Build Resiliency," by Stress Doc Mark Gorkin; and
  • networking opportunities with companies showcasing their wellness products and services.

"Organizations today have attempted just about every cost-shifting and cost-saving measure imaginable to keep their health care expenses down," emphasizes Wellness Council of Indiana Program Director Chuck Gillespie. "It's time to try something else and something that has been proven to succeed.

"Attendees will learn about proven, cost-effective wellness concepts for eating right, reducing stress, promoting active lifestyles and changing behaviors in their workplace - all of which can help them to implement and manage a comprehensive, consistent and sustainable workplace wellness initiative."

The event, presented by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Wellness Council of Indiana in partnership with INShape Indiana, will take place at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis.

Cost is $199 per person and includes lunch. If an organization sends one individual to the summit, a second registration is available for half price.

Register online or call (800) 824-6885.

The Indiana Employee Wellness Summit is sponsored by: Infinity Employer Health Solutions; Jackson Lewis LLP; First Merchants Insurance Group; Gregory and Appel; Hays Companies of Indiana; Indiana University Health Business Solutions; JA Benefits, LLC; Westview Medical Campus; Wishard Health Services; FirstPerson; Health Resources, Inc.; Neace Lukens; New Avenues, Inc.; and St. Vincent Bariatric Center of Excellence.
