(FORT WAYNE) -- White Hat Entertainment, an affiliate of Fort Wayne-based North River Capital, recently announced that its first feature film, "Robot and Frank," will premiere at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, scheduled for January 19 through January 29, in and around Park City, Utah. Â
The movie was selected for the Sundance "Premieres" section, which showcases some of the most highly anticipated films of the coming year. Directed by Jake Schreier, it stars Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon, James Marsden, Liv Tyler, and features Peter Sarsgaard as the voice of the robot.
Set in the near future, Robot and Frank is about a curmudgeonly old loner (Frank Langella) with a passion for books, and a fondness for his only friend, the town librarian (Susan Sarandon). When his adult children (Marsten & Tyler) become concerned about his well-being, they buy him a caretaker robot. Resistant at first, Frank and the Robot first become friends, and then partners in unexpected adventures that give the movie universal appeal.  Â
The film was produced by Galt Niederhoffer, Sam Bisbee, Jackie Kelman Bisbee, and Lance Accord. Executive producers were White Hat Entertainment, in association with Dog Run Pictures, Park Pictures, Madrose Production, and Ann Porter.
Park Pictures Features is the newest collaboration between Park Pictures, a premier commercial production company founded by Jackie Kelman Bisbee and Lance Accord, producer-songwriter Sam Bisbee, and acclaimed novelist and independent film producer, Galt Niederhoffer.
