More than 180 members make up the Indiana Chamber board of directors. The members are presidents, CEOs and high-level executives from companies throughout Indiana. The board plays a vital role in developing all aspects of the organization's business advocacy efforts. Members serve on various committees that research key topics and define policy positions for adoption by the entire board each fall. These positions are used by the Indiana Chamber's advocacy team to initiate and evaluate legislation at the Statehouse and in Congress.
Wells, a board member since 2000, has served on a number of policy committees throughout his tenure. He was named an Indiana Chamber Volunteer of the Year in 2006 and was the organization's 2010 Business Leader of the Year. His chairmanship duties for the Indiana Chamber run through the organization's next fall board of directors meeting on November 1, 2012.
"Mike Wells has tremendous political and public policy instincts and we've been benefitting from those skills through his service on our executive committee. I look forward to working with him in an even greater capacity during the next year," notes Indiana Chamber President Kevin Brinegar.
"Our new board members represent top companies from throughout the state and are recognized leaders in their communities. We are delighted to have them offer their diverse experiences and insights to help promote economic and job growth in Indiana."
