(INDIANAPOLIS) — Hoosier companies can learn about good health practices and wellness strategies at an upcoming Indianapolis event. The 2014 Indiana Health and Wellness Summit, featuring more than 50 industry experts, takes place October 7-8 at the Indiana Convention Center.
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce – along with the Wellness Council of Indiana, Indiana State Department of Health, INShape Indiana and the American Diabetes Association – is hosting the two-day session.
Peter “Pete the Planner” Dunn will kick off the proceedings with his presentation, “Mistakes Companies Make That Affect Their Employees’ Lives.” This focuses on seemingly benign employer
decisions that can adversely affect the financial lives of employees, plus how to avoid these pitfalls.
On day two, the morning’s keynote presentation comes from Zonya Foco, a nutritionist, author and TV host. Her topic, “The Power of One Good Habit,” puts an emphasis on eating healthy while ditching the diet mentality.
Organizations attending the event will hear about wellness education that produces results, wellness trends and best strategies, the pros and cons of incentives, and much more. Employers of all sizes and with varying degrees of wellness experience will benefit from over 30 educational sessions and the health and wellness expo with numerous industry vendors in attendance.
The cost for the summit is $299 for both days; $199 for those attending on October 7; and $249 for those attending on October 8. Group discounts are available.
