(INDIANAPOLIS) -- It's important for companies to protect themselves from legal action whenever possible, yet businesses fall prey to payroll practice-based lawsuits every day, thanks to class action and collective action procedures.
To combat those lawsuits and keep Hoosier companies out of legal danger, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Ice Miller LLP to offer the Indiana Wage and Hour Law Seminar on July 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Conference Center in downtown Indianapolis.
The seminar offers information on applicable state and federal wage and hour laws, and will help businesses spot non-compliance practices before litigation takes place. Featuring speakers from Ice Miller, seminar topics include equal pay and child labor laws; wage garnishment, child support and government contractors; calculation of overtime; compensable working time; payment of wages and more.
Lunch is provided and the cost for the seminar is $299 for Indiana Chamber members; $329 for non-members. Any company sending three people can send a fourth for free. The course is part of the Indiana Chamber's Human Resource Specialist Certificate program and attendees will receive one credit toward completion of the program.
For more information on the seminar or to register, visit the web site at www.indianachamber.com/conferences or call (800) 824-6885 or (317) 264-6885.
