(INDIANAPOLIS) -- Staying informed of the latest unemployment insurance developments and the evolving impact of federal health care reform are necessary steps for all Hoosier businesses. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce offers up-to-date guidance on both subjects at April seminars in the Circle City.
The Unemployment Insurance Seminar takes place on April 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 2011 Indiana General Assembly just passed a new law making several changes to unemployment insurance that will impact employers' rates. Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) representatives and the former general counsel for DWD will present the information businesses need to know. Cost: $299 for Indiana Chamber members; $329 for non-members.
On April 21, the Health Care Reform: Still Alive in 2011 event runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
Information at this seminar is presented by attorneys at Ice Miller, LLP. Subjects to be addressed include: status of repeal efforts and court challenges; lessons learned from early implementation, plus "myth busters"; and new regulations and other guidance impacting employers, such as establishment of insurance exchanges as well as employer and individual penalties. Cost: $199 for Indiana Chamber members; $229 for non-members.
Both events will be held at the Indiana Chamber Conference Center at 115 W. Washington Street, Suite 850S, in downtown Indianapolis.
Anyone sending three employees to either seminar may send a fourth for free. To register, visit www.indianachamber.com/conferences or call (317) 264-6885.
