(INDIANAPOLIS) -- Two of the more complex issues that employers need to stay apprised of are health care and immigration reforms. In October, the latest on both will be discussed in detail at two Indiana Chamber of Commerce seminars presented by Ice Miller LLP.
Immigration Update: Hiring Foreign Nationals and Indiana's New Immigration Law takes place on October 4 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Indiana Chamber's conference center at 115 W. Washington Street, Suite 850S, in downtown Indianapolis.
The program is targeted toward human resource professionals and others involved with employment verification. The seminar will focus on Indiana's illegal immigration law and the federal E-Verify employment process.
Health Care Reform: Status of the Debate and Compliance Efforts will be held October 11 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Indiana Chamber's conference center.
This event will update attendees on various aspects of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Topics include: the status of repeal efforts and court challenges, lessons learned from early implementations and new regulations impacting employers - like the establishment of health exchanges as well as penalties.
Cost for either seminar is $229 per person or $199 for Indiana Chamber members. Significant discounts are available for multiple attendees; call for details.
