(VALPARAISO) -- Express Employment Professionals is proud to announce that its sales support employee, Amanda Wilson, received the Golden Hoosier Award at a ceremony in Indianapolis at the State Fairgrounds. 

Nominated by the Northwest Indiana Community Action, Wilson was selected by Indiana's lieutenant governor and the Family and Social Services' Division on Aging. 

Recipients of the Golden Hoosier Award are outstanding examples of the Hoosier spirit, helping neighbors whenever needed. These recipients are unsung heroes from across Indiana," said Indiana's Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman. 

In 2009, Wilson established Faith Ministries which now expands across three counties to eleven nursing homes, two independent senior residences, an assisted living facility and a Salvation Army recovery residence.  Wilson volunteers by doing individual visits, counseling and group sessions.  

"There is no greater reward than to experience the gratitude expressed by those who have no one else," Wilson said.
